City of Santa Clara issued the following announcement on Nov. 30
A former employee of Santa Clara University (SCU) has been arrested and charged with one felony count of Possession of Child Pornography (Penal Code 311.11(a)).
In early October 2020, SCU administration were informed that a makeshift room was constructed in a basement maintenance shop on campus. There was a mattress and various sex toys in the makeshift room. SCU administration determined that a maintenance worker, Jason Cameron Brown age 49, had constructed the makeshift room.
On October 21, 2020, SCU reported the incident to the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD). Additionally, SCU turned over a laptop computer belonging to the former employee. A forensic analysis of the laptop revealed that the hard drive contained child pornography.
At 6:45a.m. this morning on Nov. 30, 2020, SCPD investigators arrested Jason Cameron Brown and served a search warrant at his residence in San Jose.
This remains an active investigation.
