CITY OF SAN JOSE: San José’s Neighborhood Center Partner Program Qualified Service Providers

Center

City of San Jose issued the following announcement on Jan. 8

The City of San José’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) is now accepting applications for the Neighborhood Center Partner Program (NCPP) Qualified Service Provider Pool.

The City will establish a qualified pool of service providers to improve access to opportunities in the areas of education and digital literacy, safe and welcoming neighborhoods, health and wellness, economic stabilization and safety net services and more at the City’s Neighborhood Centers. Formerly known as the Facility ‘Reuse’ Program, the Neighborhood Center Partner Program recognizes that the strength of the program is determined by community-based partners providing relevant services at neighborhood-based facilities.

“The Department is working toward revitalizing our program with goals that extend beyond maintaining services at our Neighborhood Centers,” said Andrea Flores Shelton, Interim Deputy Director of the Recreation & Neighborhood Services Division. “Our goal is to increase public access and provide meaningful, quality programming, high priority services and resources at our Neighborhood Centers across San José. The role of Neighborhood Centers is more important than ever during these difficult times and will continue through the community recovery from the pandemic.”

Interested agencies are invited to attend a pre-proposal workshop to review critical information about the program and how to apply for this Request for Qualification. Applicants are strongly encouraged, but are not required, to attend this workshop.

“In a city as diverse as San José, it is important to have a team of service providers that reflect our families, our values, and serves our communities,” stated Jon Cicirelli, Director of PRNS. “We hope many agencies attend the pre-proposal workshop to learn more about becoming a qualified service provider with our department.”

The pre-proposal workshop is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 4 p.m. through the Zoom video conferencing application link and mobile access numbers listed below:
